On June 8th at 8 pm, our contemporary music collective Noise Catalogue will present a very special concert alongside multi-disciplinary artist Knox Peters. The concert will take place at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 3 West 65th St, NYC, and you can expect to hear incredibly unique and far-ranging pieces of music written by living composers (for percussion, flute, organ, piano, and violin, paired with spoken word and visuals).
Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a suggested amount of $15. We strongly encourage donating what you can, so that our ensemble can continue producing events like this.
The concert will include a performance of ‘Employee Training’ by Thomas Palmer, a brilliant work offering commentary on corporate workplace culture, which is paired with text and video projections created by Knox. The program will also feature a fascinating work for solo percussion by Molly Herron (involving broken flower pot shards, a metal ruler, and a doorstop), a work for organ by Reiko Füting, an ensemble piece by Madeline Hocking, a percussion quartet by Dániel Matei, a chamber work by Alvin Singleton, and a gorgeous chamber piece which Bahar Royaee wrote in solidarity with the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement in Iran.
We can’t wait to perform this incredible music for you!
Performers: Madeline Hocking (violin), Dániel Matei (percussion), Jonathan Collazo (percussion), Katherine Fortunato (percussion), Andrea Abel (flute), Adrienne Schoenfeld (bass), Dylan Ofrias (percussion), Nacho Ojeda (piano), and Austin Philemon (organ).
